By playing NaijaWaka you agree to these terms. They are written to be short and clear.

The game

NaijaWaka is a quiz game about Nigerian culture, made for fun and learning. Questions are written with care, but trivia can contain mistakes or change over time. If you spot an error, please tell us.

Coins and lives

Coins are a virtual item that only works inside the game. They have no cash value, cannot be sold, transferred or exchanged for money, and belong to the game and not to any account. Coins are stored on your own device, so they cannot be recovered if you clear your browser data or lose the device. You can earn coins by playing, or buy them with Naira through Paystack. Coins are added after Paystack confirms your payment. The packs and prices are shown in the coin shop before you pay.

Refunds and payment problems

If you were charged and your coins did not arrive, reopen the game on the same device: it re-checks unfinished payments by itself. If the coins still do not arrive, contact us with your Paystack payment reference and we will fix it or refund you. Because coins are delivered at once, we do not offer refunds for coins that were delivered, unless the law requires it.

Waits and fair play

To keep the game fair, three wrong answers within 30 minutes start a short wait, which you can skip with coins or by buying a life. Do not use cheats, scripts or tricks to change your progress, coins or ranking, or to overload the service. We may remove ranking entries, reset scores or block access for abuse, and we may remove nicknames that are offensive or that impersonate others.

The rankings

If you join the rankings, your nickname and score are public. Do not use your real name or anything offensive, and do not impersonate anyone else.

Content and credits

The game's design, text and drawings belong to NaijaWaka. Photographs come from Wikimedia Commons under their own free licences, with credits shown in the game. Please do not copy the game or present it as your own.

Availability and liability

We work to keep the game running, but we cannot promise it will always be available or error-free, and we may change or end features. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses from using the game. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under Nigerian law that cannot be limited.

Changes and law

We may update these terms and will change the date above when we do. These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Questions, payment problems or requests to delete your ranking name: keep your Paystack payment reference (it starts with NQ) and message us through the NaijaWaka page on social media or the Paystack receipt sent to you. We aim to reply within 7 days.
