Terms of Use

By playing NaijaWaka you agree to these terms. They are written to be short and clear.

The game

NaijaWaka is a quiz game about Nigerian current affairs, made for fun. Questions are written with care, but news facts change quickly and answers reflect the situation when each question was written, so some may be out of date or contain mistakes. The game is not a news service or professional advice. Names and photos of public figures are used for quiz purposes only, with no endorsement or affiliation. If you spot an error, please tell us. Lives and game money

Lives and game money are virtual items that only work inside the game. They have no cash value, cannot be sold, transferred or exchanged for money, and belong to the game and not to any account. They are stored on your own device, so they cannot be recovered if you clear your browser data or lose the device. Lives are not earned by finishing levels; you can buy them with Naira through Paystack. They are added after Paystack confirms your payment, and the packs and prices are shown in the shop before you pay.

Refunds and payment problems

If you were charged and your lives did not arrive, reopen the game on the same device: it re-checks unfinished payments by itself. If they still do not arrive, contact us with your Paystack payment reference and we will fix it or refund you. Because lives are delivered at once, we do not offer refunds for lives that were delivered, unless the law requires it.

Waits and fair play

To keep the game fair, every wrong answer costs one life and ₦10,000 of game money, and when all three lives are gone a short wait starts. Buying lives (₦300 gives 3 lives and ₦30,000 of game money, ₦500 gives 5 lives and ₦50,000, ₦800 gives 8 lives and ₦80,000) ends the wait. Game money has no cash value. Do not use cheats, scripts or tricks to change your progress, lives, game money or ranking, or to overload the service. We may remove ranking entries, reset scores or block access for abuse, and we may remove nicknames that are offensive or that impersonate others.

The rankings

If you join the rankings, your nickname and score are public. Do not use your real name or anything offensive, and do not impersonate anyone else.

Content and credits

The game's design, text and drawings belong to NaijaWaka. Photographs come from Wikimedia Commons under their own free licences, with credits on the image credits page. Please do not copy the game or present it as your own.

Availability and liability

We work to keep the game running, but we cannot promise it will always be available or error-free, and we may change or end features. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses from using the game. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under Nigerian law that cannot be limited.

Changes and law

We may update these terms and will change the date above when we do. These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
